Sabritec Receives Boeing Exceptional Performance Award
Sabritec has been selected to receive the Boeing International Space Station (ISS) Program Exceptional Company Performance Award for calendar year 2001. The award is based on Sabritec's performance in providing the services, materials and facilities required for the design, fabrication and qualification testing of newly added configurations and engineering evaluation testing of existing SSQ22680 electrical connectors to Boeing. Boeing Houston nominated Sabritec based on their exceptional support and timely deliveries. 
Sabritec has been working with Boeing and NASA to design and manufacture two new external carrier connectors for the International Space Station. These connectors will be installed on the Flight Replaceable Attach Mechanism (FRAM) and serve as the main interconnect between the station and the ORU Flight Support Equipment (FSE). The connectors will be used for both power and data transmission applications. The data connector has also been designed to incorporate two space-qualified fiber optic contacts alongside their electrical counterparts.
On September 17th, 2002, Boeing held a presentation ceremony at Sabritec's Irvine, CA facility. The presentation is part of Boeing's ongoing effort to recognize suppliers that contribute to Human Space Flight. Attendee the ceremony will be astronaut Tracy Callwell.
